I saw a curious sight in Venice a few years back when I visited during Carnevale. As I walked across the Rialto Bridge, I noticed a veritable 'platoon' of Gondolas approaching (some with passengers, some without). The gondoliers were all singing, and all singing in unison (the same song altogether)! The noise (pleasant as it was), was deafening. They went under the bridge and off down the grand canal. So, does this happen a lot? Is it an everyday occurrence? I'm bringing my mother this time around and I'd love to have her witness this. Any suggestions? Thanks!
